The primary use for the terms list (at least for me) is to see when a user's membership expires. Showing the last term first would achieve this (without having to deal with the hard problem of figuring out how to show all of them).
You could also just replace the term list with a "last term" and "first term" field. That would tell the user when they first joined, and when their membership expires.
