The current Events page now shows the events for Fall 2021, however when we navigate to the Spring 2021 events page, there is no link back to the Fall 2021 page in the header. (see attached screenshots)
As well, the Events and News Archives don't show Fall 2021 yet. This is probably a feature, though, and not a bug.
This is because there are currently no events in content/events/2021/fall.
Not sure if this is a feature or a bug though. The user may be expecting to be able to navigate to the current event regardless of if there are events or not.
Hmm okay yeah that makes sense. Since I was used to the scroll-like behaviour of the event page headers, it threw me off a little that I couldn't navigate to the Fall 2021 events page. I'm curious to see what everyone else has to say, but for now I'll remove the Bug label and change this to a Post Launch issue. 🙂
This issue would also be temporarily resolved if we just add an event to Fall 2021. I think the BOT event is already being advertised...
Yeah I'm agreeing with you -- I think the user is probably expecting to navigate to the current term* regardless
I think this can be closed, not really a huge issue. Thoughts @a258wang @j285he ?
Although the problem has been temporarily fixed since the content/events/2021/fall folder is no longer empty, I still want to try poking around to see if we can do something about the slightly unintuitive behaviour that is described in this issue, if that's okay? It would definitely maximize ease of use during those couple of weeks right before a new term starts. I understand that this is very low priority compared to our other issues, though. 😅
(If Jared wants to close the issue though, then I'm fine if we just go ahead and close it lol)
We should change the issue title to something more appropriate if we're planning on keeping it open.
